car news desk, French carmaker Citroën is all set to bring a new attractive car as its next new product in India, which will enter the compact SUV segment in the country. With the introduction of this car, customers will get the option of more seating configurations in the segment. The name of this car is going to be C3 AirCross, which will be based on the C3 hatchback. But its wheelbase will be longer. It will be positioned between the C3 and C5 AirCross in the company’s portfolio. The length of the C3 AirCross will be more than 4m. This car will compete with Creta and Grand Vitara in its segment. But being a 7 seater, it will attract MPV customers as well. It is expected to get a mixed form of C5 and C3. The roofline could get a boxy look due to ample headroom across all rows while it could get C5-like wheels.

Spot has happened during testing

The car has been spied several times during testing in India. The car could see an aggressive headlamp design like the C3 and C5, along with a split grille. Modular cabin can be found with separate seats for the second row. Coming to the compact SUV segment, more features are expected. Features like automatic climate control, sunroof and connected car technology can be seen in this car. It can also get a 10-inch touchscreen with the C3 hatchback.

The C3 Aircross will come with only a single turbo petrol engine in India. In which this engine can be paired with both manual and automatic options. Like the company’s C3 hatchback, the electric version of this SUV may also hit the market soon.

Citroen is all set to expand its lineup in the country with this flagship compact SUV, though there are already a number of models available in the segment. Due to its different styling and 7 seater layout, it can get an important place in the market.
