Under this partnership, Maruti Suzuki is selling the Grand Vitara, while Toyota is selling its Urban Cruiser Highrider and Innova Highcross with strong hybrid powertrains.
Maruti Suzuki Swift/Dzire
Maruti Suzuki is preparing the next generation model of its hatchback car Swift and sedan car Dzire, which is going to be launched next March 2024 or earlier. The company has started testing the new Suzuki Swift. The new model is likely to get several updates in terms of styling, features and powertrain. These new models can get a powerful hybrid powertrain like the company’s Grand Vitara.
Toyota’s powerful hybrid technology will be used in these new generation models. These cars will get a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine. According to media reports, the new Swift and DZire will be the most fuel efficient cars in India. That is, it is likely to get mileage up to 35-40kmpl. The new hybrid versions of Swift and DZire will be compliant with the upcoming CAFE II (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) norms.
Innova Highcross Based MPV
As part of the Toyota-Suzuki partnership, Maruti Suzuki will launch a rebadged version of Toyota Kirloskar’s recently launched Toyota Innova Highcross. Maruti Suzuki will make some changes before the launch of this Toyota car. The company can present this car by August. This car will be sold through Nexa dealership. This will be the costliest car from Maruti in India till date.
