But, now Hyundai is also working on a new SUV to compete with the Tata Punch in the micro SUV segment, which will open up a new option for customers apart from the Tata Punch when it comes to India.
Speculations are rife that Hyundai will bring a new micro SUV (codenamed Hyundai Ai3) by the end of this year or early next year. This will be the company’s smallest and cheapest SUV in the country. To rival the Tata Punch, the new Hyundai micro SUV could be kept within an estimated price range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from Punch, it will also compete with cars like Maruti Ignis, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
The new spy shots reveal that the Hyundai Ai3 SUV will feature projector headlamps with H-shape light elements. It will get taillamps with LED DRLs, circular fog lamps, alloy wheels and H-shaped design elements. Steel wheels can be found in the lower variants of the SUV. Apart from this, not much information has been revealed yet. However, expect features like a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, automatic AC unit, semi-digital instrument cluster and a single-pane sunroof.
