
auto news desk,The world’s fastest car, the Pininfarina Battista broke several speed records at India’s Natrax test facility in February. The all-electric Batista completed a quarter-mile or 400-metre run in 8.55 seconds and a half-mile run over 800 meters in 13.38 seconds, as verified by VBOX. The top speed record was set by the FIA-affiliated Federation of Verified by the Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI). The Battista produces 1400 kW (1877bhp) and 2340 Nm of torque through four motors tuned by Automobili Pininfarina in Italy. Wheel power to all 4 wheels of the torque vectoring system was tested.

Paolo Dellacha, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, said: “We are very proud to bring Battista to India for the first time. The collaborative program with our shareholder Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. was delivered at an important time for Automobili Pininfarina. In 2022 we begin production of Battista in our new atelier facility in Italy, with deliveries to customers around the world shortly after.

Batista had previously set several performance world records during the final round of homologation at his test base in Nardo, Italy. Official tests also confirmed that the Batista is the world’s fastest braking electric vehicle, completing 100-0 kmph in 31 metres.
