auto news desk, MG Motor India has released the monthly sales numbers for February 2023 and the company’s total sales stood at 4,193 vehicles. The Chinese-owned British brand reported a year-on-year decline of 7.4 per cent compared to 4,528 vehicles sold during the same month in 2022. At the same time, compared to 4,114 cars sold in January 2023, the company in a month – a monthly increase of about 2 percent.
Earlier this year, MG Motor India launched the 2023 Hector and Hector Plus SUVs in the country. The company says that while bookings for the new Hector have been positive, the supply position of select variants has been affected. The carmaker is also focusing on manufacturing its premium SUV MG Gloster to meet the demand of SUV enthusiasts.
MG currently sells four cars in India – the Hector, Aster, Gloster and the all-electric ZS EV. Of these, Aster and Hector are currently leading the company’s monthly sales with an average of around 1500 to 1600 cars being sold every month. The ZS EV sells around 500 to 700 cars a month, while the company’s flagship SUV MG Gloster sells around 200 cars a month.
