The model was launched in 3 variants – AX Diesel, LX Diesel and LX Petrol, priced between Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.49 lakh. These were introductory prices and applicable only for the first 10,000 customers. In such a situation, Mahindra has now increased the price of LX diesel manual variant by Rs 1,000. 50,000.

Mahindra Thar RWD Edition is available in two color options – Everest White and Blazing Bronze. The Thar RWD costs around Rs 4 lakh less than the 4×4 variant. The Mahindra Thar RWD variant comes with a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine while the 4X4 variant gets a 2.2L engine. The low power diesel engine brings the Thar RWD under the ambit of GST benefits on sub-4 meter vehicles. It gets a 6-speed manual gearbox, this engine generates power of 117bhp and torque of 300Nm.
Its turbo petrol RWD variant only comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 2L turbocharged petrol engine is capable of generating 150PS and 320Nm of torque. Talking about the features, the Thar RWD gets powered ORVMs, touchscreen infotainment unit, cruise control, electronic stability program, 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres.
