car news desk, Maruti Suzuki will launch two SUVs, the Jimny and the Fronx, for its Nexa outlets in the coming months. The Jimny has received over 23,500 bookings since January. Maruti Suzuki has started dealer displays of the SUV at a few Nexa outlets. The Maruti Jimny Customer Showcase will end on April 7. The Jimny debuted at the Auto Expo 2023. Its sale will be started from May. As per reports, the SUV will be showcased across 9 cities in India by April 7, 2023. After this it is possible that Maruti Suzuki Franks will be launched. Currently Jimny dealer showcases are operational in cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Mohali, Ludhiana, Raipur, Bhubaneswar and Bengaluru. The deliveries of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny are expected to commence by the end of May in India.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Powertrain
Maruti Suzuki’s 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine powers the Jimny which generates 105hp and 134Nm of peak torque. According to reports, gearbox options include either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque-converter automatic. In this, Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system can be found with manual transfer case.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Variant: Features
The Jimny is available in only two trims – Zeta and Alpha. It gets headlamps, Smartplay Pro Plus infotainment system and Arkamys sound system. However, Maruti Suzuki is expected to get safety features like 6 airbags and hill-hold assist.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Price and launch date
It is expected that the price of Jimny could be around Rs 12 lakh. The upcoming car is likely to go on sale in May 2023. It will not have any direct rival at the time of launch. Mahindra and Force are also developing a 5-door version of the Thar.
