auto news desk, Kia quietly unveiled the 2023 Cairns MPV, which gets a new powertrain and gearbox, as well as new features. The company has announced its new prices on its official website. The 2023 Kia Carens is now available in the price range of Rs 10.45 lakh to Rs 18.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It competes in the market with minivans like Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta.
The 2023 Kia Carens features a new 1.5-litre turbocharged gasoline engine, which also powers the Hyundai Alcazar and the soon-to-be-launched new-gen Verna. This engine has been replaced by the 1.4-litre turbo petrol, which did not meet BS-VI Stage 2 or RDE emission norms. This new engine will generate 160PS of power and 253Nm of torque, 20PS/11Nm more than the 1.4L turbo petrol engine.
In this, instead of manual gearbox, iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) has been given. Along with this, the 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission) has been continued. The price of Carens 1.5L iMT ranges from Rs 12 Lakh to Rs 17.55 Lakh. Its DCT variant costs between Rs 15.75 lakh to Rs 18.45 lakh. In addition, the usual 1.5 liter gasoline engine (115 hp) and 1.5 liter diesel engine (116 hp) have been carried forward.
Kia has also enhanced the standard features of the Carens. You will get a 12.5-inch digital instrument console as standard. This feature was earlier available on the second-to-base Prestige variant, but will now be available on the base premium variant as well. Now Kia’s connected car technology will also support Alexa connectivity. The MPV also gets features like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, one-touch power folding second-row seats, ventilated front seats and power sunroof.
