auto news desk, Mahindra’s Bolero is one of the best selling cars of the company. It has been ruling the hearts of the customers since many years. Now it is discussed that Mahindra is going to bring a 9 seater version of its Bolero. This is the long wheelbase version of the Mahindra Bolero Neo, which was recently spied testing. The name of this car can be Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus. The full length of the car can be seen in the new pictures. Apart from the Bolero Neo, Mahindra is also working on a long wheelbase version of the Thar.
This gives a clear idea about the design of the SUV. Its design and exteriors are almost identical to the Bolero Neo, although the wheelbase has been extended to allow more seats. The side profile of the SUV is similar to the seven-seat version. But a closer look reveals the taller rear quarter glass, bigger taillight cluster, more curved tailgate and new rear bumper.
Will Mahindra call it Bolero Neo Plus?
It is not yet clear whether the name of this SUV will be Bolero Neo Plus or not. If you have been following Mahindra’s portfolio for the past 5-7 years, you would know that the Bolero Neo is basically the TUV300 facelift. At the time of TUV300, the company used to sell the 9 seater version as TUV300 Plus.
While the TUV300 featured a 1.5L 3-cylinder diesel engine, the TUV300 Plus borrowed a larger 2.2L 4-cylinder diesel engine from the Scorpio. The big engine helps in carrying 9 passengers and is a heavy vehicle on the frame. This time it is unclear whether they will continue with the 2.2L engine or bring in the more powerful 1.5L turbo diesel engine that powers the Marazzo.
