
auto news desk, Maruti Suzuki launched its first powerful hybrid car Grand Vitara in the country last year. There are 6 trims of this car, and only the top two trims Zeta+ and Alpha+ get the powerful hybrid powertrain. It uses Toyota’s 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine, which is capable of generating 92bhp of power.
Hybrid powertrain will be available in these cars
Maruti Suzuki will use the Atkinson cycle engine in its new generation Swift and Dzire, which are likely to be launched in 2024. The All New Swift may hit the global market in the second half of this year.
The new Maruti Swift and DZire will get a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine with strong hybrid technology. This engine will meet the upcoming CAFÉ II norms. As per reports, the mild hybrid Swift and DZire are likely to get a mileage of around 35 to 40 kmpl. Thus, it will be the most fuel efficient car in India.

In terms of features, the next-gen Swift and DZire are expected to get features like Suzuki voice assist and wireless smartphone connectivity with OTA (over-the-air) updates, a new SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system.
How much will it cost?
The hybrid models of the 2024 Maruti Swift and DZire will cost around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh more than their regular petrol models.
