auto news desk, Brands like Maruti Suzuki, Tata and Kia will introduce new CNG SUVs during this calendar year in response to the popularity of bi-fuel technology. Here we will give you information about the models of these brands which are soon going to hit the market with CNG powertrain.
1. Maruti Suzuki Brezza
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG debuted a few months ago at the Auto Expo. Its prices will be announced in the coming months. The 1.5L petrol engine is expected to be available in both MT and AT variants – making it the first compact SUV to boast of such options.
2. Maruti Suzuki Frox CNG
Maruti Suzuki will soon bring the CNG version of the Franch. Sales of the compact SUV coupe will begin next month and a CNG variant could be offered from the start. It will feature a 1.2L four-cylinder petrol engine and help the Franks keep a great range.
3. Tata Punch CNG
At the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata showcased the CNG-spec Punch and Altroz. Both are powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. They will be available on sale later this year. This car will come with double CNG tank.
4. Kia Sonet CNG
The company is also working on a CNG version of the Sonet. It will be launched as per BSVI Stage 2 in the coming months. As per the spy images, the Kia Sonet CNG could be offered in its X-Line trim, which will be powered by a 1.0L three-cylinder turbo petrol engine.
