Maruti Suzuki’s Senior Executive Director Sales and Marketing Shashank Srivastava said that the company is targeting to cross the total sales of premium vehicles of Hyundai and Tata Motors by next year through Nexa outlets.
Maruti Suzuki started the Nexa retail chain in 2015 to sell its premium vehicles. Now its total sales have crossed 20 lakh units. Currently, vehicles like Baleno, Ignis, Ciaz, XL6 and Grand Vitara are sold under this. The upcoming SUVs Franck and Jimny will also be offered under this outlet.
The company expects its passenger vehicle sales to grow by five to 7.5 per cent in 2023-24. Srivastava said, ‘We have crossed the figure of 2 million units in Nexa. The first million vehicles were sold in four years and the next million in three years. Srivastava said, “Nexa is at number four in the industry, we expect it to become the second largest brand in the auto industry by next year.”
