auto news desk, Maruti Suzuki will soon be launching a compact crossover – the Frons, which will be sold through Nexa dealerships. Its prices can be announced in April. It is expected that the price of its entry-level variant will be around Rs 8 lakh while the price of the top variant can go up to Rs 11 lakh. It will definitely be costlier than the Tata Punch (starting at around Rs 6 lakh) but it will compete with other SUVs in the market as well as the Punch.
two engine options
It will get two engine options, which are 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol Boosterjet and 1.2 litre, 4-cylinder NA petrol engine. Three gearbox options will be given with them. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard while a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit will be reserved for the turbo petrol engine. Whereas, the 5-speed AMT option will be available with the NA petrol engine only.
Trims & Features
The Frons lineup will be available in five trims – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha. Its range-topping trim is Alpha, which will get 360-degree camera, head-up display (HUD), cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel. It will get 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with the option of a dual-tone color scheme.
other features
The car gets features like dual airbags, hill hold assist, rear defogger, reverse parking sensors, electronic stability program, tilt adjustment steering, powered windows and 60:40 rear seat split. It also gets features like automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, fabric seat upholstery and dual-tone interiors.
