Car News Desk – Volkswagen’s Polo was the first hatchback car to come with the GT tag, but now the company has stopped selling this car. But now for those who prefer a powerful engine, the Taigun GT with 1.5 TSI is available in the market. Although its 1.0 TSI engine also gives adequate performance, but the 1.5 TSI has its own fun. We drove the car for three months and each time its engine impressed us. Its four-cylinder 1.5 TSI engine produces 150 Bhp of peak power and 250 Nm of torque. Coupled with the sleek DSG automatic transmission, it is extremely powerful in itself.
driving experience
We have prepared a long term report about this car. The Tigun offers enough performance for a beginner driver, but its badges and colors take it to a different level. Still, some of Volkswagen’s signature design cues can be seen in it. Its color combination is not stingy to the eyes and we quite liked it. Although the cabin inside is a bit small, it has all the necessary amenities and is very quiet. The cabin isn’t very flashy or very advanced but everything in it makes sense. The touchscreen itself is sleek and very smooth to use. Its AC works very well even in the summer of Delhi. Like other cars of the company, its seats are also quite comfortable. During our stay with the car for 3 months, we really liked its interior, no low quality plastic has been used in it. The whole set up is quite nice with a sunroof and ventilated seats.
rear seat space is less
This is a SUV segment car, which means it will have more space, but despite being a 5 seater, it is a bit difficult to seat the third person on the rear seats. So for better driving experience you can definitely buy it. The engine is very powerful, it’s smooth and tractable and low-speed stop-go traffic is very smooth, but the DSG automatic is a bit jerky. It feels aggressive all around, but it is not at all difficult to drive. The dimensions of this compact SUV are quite good and its ground clearance is also sufficient for all types of roads.
good mileage
It’s easy and fun to drive, but the feel of the steering sets it apart from other cars and will feel more like a Polo GT, not an SUV. Its engine has been updated which really impresses us. When you drive this car with light throttle, you get to know about all the running features. Despite being a heavy engine, it returns a mileage of around 10 to 12 Kmpl, which is quite good.
The Taigun GT is simply amazing to drive and if you love driving, there is no substitute for the GT 1.5 TSI. Its handling and DSG make it easy to drive. GT 1.5 TSI is a rough and tough engine. Although it costs less than the 1.0 TSI. But this is the best engine in Tigun. You can get bigger SUVs or more features at this price, but this is the best SUV in its segment. We liked the performance, looks, colour, build quality, mileage and handling of the Tigun 1.5 TSI, but were disappointed by the harsh ride quality and low rear seat space.
