
auto news desk, Just days after launching the Red Dark editions of the Safari and Harrier, Tata Motors has discontinued some variants of both these models. Not only this, their prices have also been increased. This is the second price hike by Tata Motors this month. The first hike was done at the beginning of the month, when the prices were increased by up to Rs 25,000.
Why did Tata increase the price of Harrier and Safari?
Tata Motors has increased the price of Harrier by Rs 47,000 and Safari by Rs 66,000 this time. The price hike is largely due to the inclusion of new features like ADAS, larger touchscreen, fully digital instrument cluster etc. in select variants. Apart from these, the prices of other Tata cars have not been increased. Tata Nexon, Punch, Tiago, Tigor etc. are priced the same as before.
Tata discontinued 26 variants of Harrier and Safari
Till now Harrier used to come in 30 variants and Safari used to come in 36 variants. A total of 66 versions of the Harrier and Safari were offered. Now 26 of these variants have been discontinued. 2 new variants of Red Dark Edition have been added to the Harrier lineup. With this, now the total number of its variants has increased to 20. At the same time, Safari has got 4 new Red Dark variants, due to which the number of its variants has increased to 26.
