
auto news desk, The demand for SUVs is the highest in India. However, small cars and premium hatchbacks are still selling well in the country. Tata Motors is understanding this. There are at least two small cars to be launched by Tata in the coming years. One of these will be the premium hatchback Altroz, whose CNG version will be launched and the other will be Tata’s popular hatchback Tiago, whose generation update version is coming.
Tata Altroz CNG
The Tata Altroz CNG was showcased earlier this year at the Auto Expo. It will be made available for sale in the coming months. The hatchback will come with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, which will be powered by Dyna-Pro technology. On CNG mode, the engine will generate maximum power of 77bhp and peak torque of 97Nm. The Altroz CNG will have two CNG tanks with a total capacity of 60 litres. The carmaker claims that the CNG tanks will be made of advanced material, which will prevent leakage and thermal incidents. It will be capable of delivering a mileage of over 25km/kg.
New-gen Tata Tiago
Tata Motors will change the generation of its very popular Tiago hatchback next year in 2024 or 2025. Major updates will be made to its underpinnings. The new Tiago will be switched to the modular Alpha platform, which is already used in the Altroz hatchback and the Punches Micro SUV. The Alpha architecture supports a variety of body styles and multiple powertrains. Significant changes will also be made in its design and interior layout. The new Tata Tiago will also be equipped with some advanced features.
