auto news desk, Kia Carens is one of the best selling cars from the South Korean automaker in India. It sold 7,900 units in January 2023, which was its biggest monthly sales. Its sales declined to 6,248 units in February. Despite this, however, the gap between sales of the Carens and its rival Maruti Suzuki Ertiga stood at just 224 units. Total Ertiga sales in February 2023 stood at 6,472 units as against 11,649 units in the same month last year (February 2022). Its sales have registered a decrease of 44 percent.
Currently the waiting period for Kia Carens is up to 12 weeks. The MPV model lineup comes with three engine options: 1.5L NA petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel, generating 115bhp power, 140bhp power and 115bhp power respectively. All the three engines come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The car also gets the options of 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox and 6-speed automatic torque converter. Its price ranges from Rs 10.20 lakh to Rs 18.45 lakh.
The Cairns can return a mileage of 16.5 kmpl on petrol, while it can return up to 21.5 kmpl on diesel. Some of its special features include 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, wireless phone charger, digital instrument cluster, second-row one-touch drop feature, ambient lighting, 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability. Management, hill assist control, electronic stability control and ABS are available.
At the same time, Maruti Ertiga is available with 1.5-liter Dualjet engine. Start-stop technology is available in it. Its engine can generate maximum power of 103 hp and torque of 136.8 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with paddleshifters. The updated Ertiga can return a mileage of 20.51kmpl and 20.30kmpl in manual and automatic versions respectively. You also get a CNG option, which offers more mileage.
