car news desk, The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has launched its best-selling SUV Maruti Brezza in CNG avatar. Its price starts from Rs. 9.14 lakhs. Currently, Maruti Brezza remains the best selling SUV. But soon Maruti Brezza is going to get a shock. In fact, the Korean automaker Kia is planning to launch the CNG version of its Sonet SUV in India. It has been seen during testing in India. The Kia Sonet CNG is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2023. It was spotted testing sometime back in Pune with the inscription “On test by ARAI”. The Sonet CNG is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and will be offered with a manual gearbox only.
The company is testing the X-Line variant of the Sonet CNG, which is equipped with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that generates 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. However, expect a drop in power and torque when the Sonet is run in CNG mode. The CNG variant costs around Rs. is expected to happen. 1 lakh more than the regular petrol variant. Kia Sonet CNG will compete with Brezza CNG and upcoming Nexon CNG
Maruti Brezza CNG
The price of Brezza CNG ranges from Rs 9.14 Lakh to Rs 12.06 Lakh. Its price has been kept Rs 95,000 more than the petrol variant. It gets an 88PS, 1.5-litre, petrol-CNG engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Brezza CNG is offered with the LXI, VXI and ZXI variants of the car. It gets features like electric sunroof, touchscreen system and parking camera.
