1. Citroën 7 Seater MPV
French automaker Citroen is working on a new MPV that will be based on the C3 hatchback. The company will also bring a 5 seater version of this car, which will compete with compact SUVs. The new Citroën 7-seater MPV could be named the C3 Aircross. The base variant will rival the Maruti Ertiga, while the top trims will be pitted against the Kia Carens. It could get a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, while the lower variants could get a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol motor with a manual gearbox.
2. Nissan 7 Seater MPV
Nissan India recently announced the expansion of its portfolio. The company will also bring 1 new MPV along with 2 new SUVs. The company’s 7-seater MPV will be based on Renault’s 7-seater Triber. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. With this, both manual and CVT gearboxes can be given. Some of its design elements and features can be taken from the Nissan Magnite.
3. Toyota Rumian MPV
Toyota had trademarked the ‘Rumion’ nameplate in India two years back. It is being said that it can be launched in 2023. This will be a re-badged version of the Maruti Ertiga. The Toyota Rumion MPV could get a differently designed front grille, headlamps and a new rear section. The new Toyota compact MPV will be powered by the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder Dualjet engine that also powers the Ertiga. It will be offered with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters.
