car news desk, Tata Punch has become popular in a very short time. It is among the top-10 best selling cars in the country. In the month of February 2023, the sales of Tata Punch have been more than that of Hyundai Creta. Tata Punch was the third best selling SUV in February with 11,169 units sold. There is an increase of 16.44 percent in its sales on an annual basis. In February 2022, only 9,592 units were sold. Hyundai Creta lagged behind in February 2023, with a total of 10,421 units sold. If Punch is selling so much, isn’t there any shortage in it? Let us tell you about its shortcomings today.
Drawbacks of Tata Punch
— Highway performance of the 1.2L NA petrol engine is not great. It gets louder at 100 kmph or above.
— Suspension is pretty firm tuned (R16 variant). This is not a bad thing but it will detect small potholes on the road and jerks will be felt inside the car.
— In the price range it comes in, many cars are offering CVT and torque converter automatic transmission while this one comes with AMT gearbox, which is jerky and slow.
— It gets a 3-cylinder petrol engine, which doesn’t match the 4-cylinder engines of many other cars in this price range in terms of refinement and NVH.
— No turbo petrol or diesel engine option available. CNG option is also not available but it will be available soon.
— 4 people can sit comfortably in the cabin but there is less space for 5 people to sit. Only two people can sit comfortably on the rear seat.
— Many features are missing but could have been, such as auto-dimming IRVM, 60:40 split rear seat, rear AC vents, front armrest, cup holders in rear armrest, padded door armrests, tyres. pressure sensors and height-adjustable front seatbelts etc.
