
car news desk, BMW India has announced that the bookings for its BMW X3 M40i xDrive performance SUV have opened. Customers can book this SUV on the company’s official website. A token amount of Rs 5 lakh will have to be paid for booking. This SUV will be released in May 2023.

The BMW X3 M40i xDrive Performance will be available in India in limited numbers and will be brought into the country through the CBU route. It is the sportier version of its regular model. The X3 M40i gets aggressive front and rear bumpers with large air dams. It also gets large two-tone M Sport alloy wheels with dual exhaust tips. Other cosmetic updates include Black Spear and Brooklyn Gray color options along with M-Special ORVMs and blacked-out kidney grille.

Talking about its interior, it will get Sentech Black interior theme with carbon fiber trims. The dashboard layout will remain the same as the regular X3. It features dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and instrument cluster. It will get 20-inch M Sport wheels, adaptive M suspension, M Sport differential, M Sport brakes and xDrive all-wheel drive system.

Talking about the powertrain of this car, it will get 3.0 liter 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which is also available in M340i sedan. However, this engine has been tuned to generate 355 hp power and 500 Nm torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The company claims that this car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.9 seconds. Its maximum speed is 250 kilometers per hour.
How much is this for?
BMW India recently introduced two new variants of the X3 Diesel. In which the ex-showroom price of X3 xDrive20d xLine is Rs 67.5 lakh and the price of X3 xDrive20d M Sport is Rs 69.9 lakh. The BMW X3 gets a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, which generates 190 hp power and 400 Nm torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Will compete with the Audi Q5
The car will compete with the Audi Q5, which used to have a 2.0-litre petrol engine. The ex-showroom price of this 5 seater SUV is Rs 61.46 lakh.
