Mercedes-AMG’s most powerful car launched, 100kmph speed in 2.9 seconds

auto news desk, Mercedes-Benz India has launched its most powerful AMG car in the Indian market. The company has launched the four-door Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance Coupe, priced at ₹3.3 crore (ex-showroom, India). It comes with minor design revisions which include new bumpers, alloy wheels, new exhaust system and charging port. The special thing is that it is a plug-in hybrid car of the company. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. It also gets a 6.1kWh electric motor, inspired by the technologies used by the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team. The combined power of the V8 engine and electric motor is 831 hp and maximum torque of 1,470 Nm. The top speed of the car is 316 km/h. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds.

The cabin of this 4-door performance coupe gets the AMG treatment with sports seats, carbon fiber and Alcantara inserts. You also get an AMG multifunction steering wheel with shortcut switches. The AMG GT SE Performance gets two 12.4-inch screens, one for the digital instrument console and the other for the infotainment system.

The car also gets AMG Dynamic Select driving modes, while there are four different recovery modes that can be selected from the steering wheel. The four-door coupe also gets a button to increase or decrease the sound via the center console or steering wheel. The car also gets Pure EV mode for the first time, which allows driving up to 13km on electric power alone.
