
auto news desk, German luxury car company Mercedes-Benz registered a record sales of 4,697 cars in India in the first quarter (January to March) of 2023, a growth of 17%. During this period, a good demand was seen for the company’s vehicles priced above ten lakh rupees. Earlier, the company had sold 4,022 cars in the same quarter last year. That means your sales increased.
The company’s sales increased by 37% to 16,497 units in FY 2022-23. This is the highest figure of sales of the company. In the financial year 2021-22, this number was 12,071 units. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mercedes-Benz India, said, “Our growth story continues with record sales during the quarter (January to March) and the financial year (2022-2023). We expect our sales to grow in double digits in 2023 as well.
Mercedes-AMG’s most powerful car launched
Mercedes has launched its most powerful AMG car in the Indian market. This is the four-door Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance Coupe, priced at Rs 3.3 crore (ex-showroom). It gets minor design revisions including new bumpers, alloy wheels, new exhaust system and charging port. Actually it is a plug-in hybrid car, so a separate charging port has been given to charge the battery.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance comes with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and a 6.1 kWh battery. The combined power of the V8 engine and electric motor is 831 hp of power and 1,470 Nm of peak torque. The top speed of the car is 316 km/h and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The AMG GT SE Performance gets two 12.4-inch screens, one for the digital instrument console and the other for the infotainment system.
