MG Comet spotted testing again, to be launched this month

car news desk, Vehicle manufacturer MG Motors is preparing to launch its new electric car MG Comet EV in the country. This has been seen many times during testing. Recently, this car was once again spotted during testing in Gurugram, in which this car was seen in a very colorful avatar.

The MG Comet EV is a compact electric car, which is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh. This car is a rebadged version of the Wuling Air EV sold in the global market. This is MG’s second electric car in India. It is likely to be launched in the month of April itself. In the Indian market, this car will compete with Tata Tiago EV and Citroën EC3.

What will the powertrain be like?
The MG Comet is expected to get an electric motor generating 38 bhp power along with a 25kWh battery pack, which will be mounted on the front axle. It is likely to get a range of 150 km per charge. According to media reports, MG Comet will be a premium model despite being a small car. It will cost more than the base model of the Tata Tiago EV, which has an initial ex-showroom price of Rs 8.69 lakh. Its initial ex-showroom price can be close to Rs 10 lakh.

Will compete with Tata Tiago EV
The car will compete with the Tata Tiago EV in the country, which gets a 19 kWh and 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, capable of delivering a range of 250 km and 320 km per charge, respectively. The starting ex-showroom price of this car starts from Rs. 8.69 lakh and goes up to Rs. 11.9 lakhs.
