Of these, the Maruti Jimny will be the SUV that will take on the Mahindra Thar. Maruti Suzuki Jimny may be launched in May, will be 1.5 liter K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine, idling start / stop system was given in it. Its power train gives power of 105 hp and torque of 137 Nm. It comes with the option of 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It gets Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system. It also gets a low range gearbox.
According to new media reports, a 1-litre turbo boosterjet petrol engine may also be offered in the Jimny in the near future. This will be the same engine that was earlier used in the Maruti Baleno RS and has now been brought back with the Maruti Franks. However, the engine has been upgraded and is now being manufactured in India. This engine was brought with 6-speed automatic torque converter and 5-speed manual transmission in Maruti Franks. =
