The company had brought the Maruti Grand Vitara SUV last year in partnership with Toyota. The company is focusing on MPV and SUV cars and is constantly updating its portfolio. Maruti is going to launch its most expensive car in India this year. It could be a 7-seater MPV. The new MPV will be placed above the XL6 in Maruti’s lineup. The Maruti XL6 price ranges between Rs 11.41 Lakh – Rs 14.67 Lakh (Ex-showroom). The new MPV, on the other hand, is expected to be priced between Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh and will be sold through Nexa dealerships.

Based on Toyota’s Innova Highcross, the new MPV will have a slightly different design. This will be the first Maruti Suzuki car equipped with ADAS technology. This advanced driver assistance system will include features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitor. It will also get standard safety features like 6 airbags, traction control, electronic stability program, antilock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution.

The new Maruti MPV will have two seating configurations – 7 and 8-seater. It will come with the same 2.0L, 4-cylinder Atkinson Cycle Hybrid (184bhp, e-drive transmission) and 2.0L petrol unit (172bhp/205Nm, a CVT gearbox) that powers the Innova Highcross. The Strong Hybrid technology of the MPV will deliver a mileage of over 23.24 km per litre. The car is expected to be launched during the festive season of 2023.
