In this segment, Tata, Mahindra and other car manufacturers are trying to hold their ground. Many new mid size SUVs are about to be launched. Currently, there are only two cars left in Honda’s portfolio in India, the Honda City and the Amaze. Both are sedans but now the company is working on a new SUV, it will be a mid-size SUV, which will make its global debut in June 2023. It will also be brought to India. The SUV has been built on the new Honda City platform. Its length will be between 4.2 to 4.3 meters. There is a possibility of getting 1.5 liter petrol and 1.5 liter petrol strong hybrid powertrain. There will be no diesel engine in it. The price of Honda’s new SUV can range from around Rs 12 lakh to around Rs 19 lakh. ADAS can also be given in this.

Tata Curve
Tata Motors is about to launch the Curvv SUV Coupe next year i.e. in 2024. It will be based on the new GEN 2 platform, which is a modified version of the ALFA platform. The Curvv will be offered with ICE and electric powertrain options. The ICE variant is likely to be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol direct injection (TGDI) and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine. At the same time, a 40kWh battery pack can be given in the EV version.

New Mahindra XUV500
Mahindra is also going to bring a new mid-size SUV, with which it will bring back the XUV500 nameplate. The SUV will be positioned below the XUV700 in the portfolio. The next-gen XUV500 is expected to measure around 4.3 to 4.4 meters in length. The new model will be based on the same platform as the XUV300 and will come with front-wheel-drive as standard. It is likely to be powered by 1.5-litre turbo petrol and turbo diesel engine units.
