After launching the Hayrider and the Innova Highcross in the last few months, Toyota is now all set to launch its entire range of vehicles in the country, which includes 4 SUVs and an MPV. Toyota SUV Coupe
Toyota is going to introduce a new coupe SUV in the sub-compact SUV segment in the country in 2023, based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Styling elements similar to the company’s global model Yaris Cross can be found in this car. Its name could be Toyota Rage. The new model will come with two engine options, including a 1.2L NA petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol engine.
Toyota 7-Seater SUV
Toyota is planning to launch a new 7-seater SUV in India. Which will be placed between Hayrider and Fortuner. It will be based on the Corolla Cross SUV sold in the global market. It will be built on the TNGA-C platform along with the new Innova Highcross. It is likely to get a 2.0-litre NA petrol and a 2.0-litre petrol engine with hybrid technology, capable of producing 172bhp and 186bhp power respectively.

Toyota is preparing to launch the next-generation Fortuner in the year 2024. It will get new design and new cabin with new engine option. This car will be based on the company’s TNGA-F architecture. On which the Tundra, Sequoia and Land Cruiser SUVs sold in the global model are also made. The new Fortuner will get a new diesel engine with a mild hybrid system. It will get a new 1GD-FTV 2.8L diesel engine with starter generator.
Toyota Rumian
Toyota is preparing to bring a rebadged version of Maruti Ertiga in India this year. Codenamed D23, the new MPV is already sold in South Africa as the Toyota Rumian. Its India-spec model can see more changes than the African model. It will get the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder K15C Dualjet engine as the Ertiga, which generates 103bhp power and 136Nm torque. It will get the option of 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.

Suzuki and Toyota are preparing a new EV for the Indian market. Both the companies are developing this car together with the new skateboard platform. This new electric car is likely to arrive in India by 2025. The new EV will have a 2.7-metre long wheelbase and a larger battery pack can be seen in it. The new Toyota electric SUV is likely to feature a 60kWh battery, which will be capable of offering a range of over 500kms. AWD system can also be found in it.
Will compete with XUV 700
Toyota’s new 7 seater SUV will compete with the Mahindra XUV 700, which offers the option of modern features like ADAS along with diesel and petrol engines.
