BMW launches new Z4 M40i drop-top in India, priced at ₹ 89.30 lakh

auto news desk, BMW has launched a new variant of its open-top sportscar Z4 in the Indian market. The car will go on sale as a full import from June 2023 and will be available with a two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty. The car is available in only one variant, the Z4 M40i, which costs Rs 89.30 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of design, the BMW Z4’s design is crisp and sharp with several interesting styling details. The car has a retractable fabric roof which can be opened and closed in 10 seconds. Along with the M badge, the car also gets some cool stuff like the Cerium Gray finish for the 19-inch M alloy wheels and the iconic kidney grille.

The redesigned Z4’s cabin gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, as well as a touchscreen infotainment display that now runs BMW’s OS 7.0. The car also gets features like Active Park Distance Control (PDC), rear view camera with optional parking assist function and driving assistant function. Other optional features include Harman Kardon’s high-end surround sound system, head-up display and wireless charging function. Safety features in the new Z4 include front and side airbags for driver and passenger, anti-lock braking system with brake assist (ABS), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).

Coming to the engine, the Z4 M40i comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine that produces 335 bhp of max power and 500 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and gets adaptive M suspension with M-Sport differential. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.5 seconds and come with a top speed of 250 kmph.
