Auto News Desk – There is a situation of economic crisis in Pakistan. Its effect is visible on different industries. Pakistan’s auto industry is also getting affected. Some time ago there were reports that many vehicle manufacturing companies in Pakistan have stopped their operations. One of the many reasons for this was also that the sales of cars were declining. Now the sales figures for the month of April (2023) which have come out are even more shocking. Actually, the car making companies in Pakistan are not getting customers for their cars.

Car sales figures in Pakistan were revealed by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) and have been widely reported in the local media. All over Pakistan, only 2,844 cars were sold during the month of April, while 18,626 units were sold in April 2022. That is, in the month of April, car sales in Pakistan have decreased by 84 percent on an annual basis, which is a huge decline in sales and is a warning bell.

,
PAMA data shows that only 276 cars were sold in the 1000cc segment last month. There are many popular models in this segment like Suzuki Alto, WagonR and Cultus (Celerio in India). Sales of vehicles above 1300cc have also been low, with a total of 1,585 units sold last month, as against 9,189 units sold in the segment in April 2022.

There are many reasons behind the decreasing demand for cars in Pakistan. In fact, here interest rates are rising, cars are becoming costlier due to increase in input cost, inflation and rising fuel prices have forced people to stay away from vehicles.
