Car News Desk – Japanese automaker Honda Motors has revealed its production-spec e:Ny1. This is the company’s first electric SUV. It will be sold in Europe and other international markets. This top trading all-electric SUV will be Honda’s first product in the market. The company will introduce the e:Ny1 in the electric SUV space this year.
How is the Honda E:Ny1
Honda is looking to strengthen its hold in the family EV SUV segment globally with the new E: NY1. It is an electric SUV like the HR-V crossover launched in the global market in 2021, which is largely similar from the outside, but its interior is completely new. The car will be based on the front-wheel-drive, pure electric platform, E:N architecture F. According to Honda, 47 percent of the E:NY1’s body will be made from high tensile steel, so the EV can incorporate adaptive underbody aerodynamic elements for a lower center of gravity and better handling.
powertrain
The car will get a single motor host on the front axle with 199hp and 310Nm output, capable of accelerating from 0-100kph in around 8.0 seconds. Its 68.8kWh battery pack can deliver a range of up to 412km on a single charge. According to the information, it can be charged up to 10-80 percent in 45 minutes with a fast charger.
design
The Honda e:Ny1 looks largely identical to the HR-V, but gets a few visual differentiators as an EV. For example, it gets the usual blanked-out grille, tweaked front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, slimmer LED tail lamps with a connecting band at the rear.
who will compete
As of now, there is no expectation of Honda e:Ny1 coming to India. But in the global market, this car can compete with Hyundai Kona Electric, which has a range of 418 kilometers per charge.
