According to Skoda Auto, it is “preparing to export vehicle kits from here to Vietnam for assembly from next year”. As Škoda Auto India is a sub-brand of Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd, Volkswagen sells cars from companies like Audi, Porsche and Lamborghini in the country. Last year also saw an increase in the sales of Volkswagen Group. Where the company registered a growth of 85.48 percent last year with total annual sales of 1,01,270 vehicles.

Petr Salk, Director, Skoda Auto India Company, said, “India is one of the most important markets for Skoda Auto. Now India is going to become an export hub for the company in no time. He also said that from next year we will Also start exporting assemble kits for vehicles from India to Vietnam.” Notably, the Volkswagen Group already exports from India to markets such as Mexico and the Middle East and North Africa, South Africa.

Currently, Skoda Auto sells cars like Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, Octavia and Kodiaq in India. The company is preparing to bring a small SUV and an electric car to the market. The Skoda Kushaq competes with the Hyundai Creta, with both petrol and diesel engine options available.
