auto news desk, Tata Motors has launched the Altroz iCNG CNG. The ex-showroom price for the CNG variant of the Altroz starts at Rs. 7.55 lakhs. The Altroz is the first CNG powered hatchback car in India to get a sunroof. Apart from this, Tata’s dual-cylinder setup for the CNG tank has also debuted with the new car. Tata’s new CNG car will challenge Maruti Baleno CNG and Toyota Glanza CNG.
There is not much difference between the petrol and CNG versions of the Tata Altroz. Only the ICNG badge will be seen in the CNG version. To make up for some of the free boot space, Tata has placed two CNG cylinders of 30 liters each under the boot floor. The earlier CNG tank used to take up a lot of boot space. The Tata Altroz CNG gets 210 liters of boot space, which is 135 liters less than the Altroz’s boot space of 345 liters.
Tata Altroz CNG: Features
The Ultroz CNG gets the same features as the petrol Ultroz. There is not much difference in terms of features between the two cars. It gets many features like 7-inch touchscreen with connectivity of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, air purifier, wireless charger, automatic headlamps.
Tata Altroz CNG: Specifications
The CNG variant of the Altroz is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine. For power transmission, it will feature a 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol version generates 88hp and 115Nm of torque. On the other hand, the CNG version produces 77hp and 103Nm of torque.
The great feature of Altroz CNG is that this car will start directly on CNG mode.
Tata Altroz CNG: Price and competition
The starting ex-showroom price of Tata Altroz CNG is Rs 7.55 lakh. This CNG car will come in 6 variants and the ex-showroom price of its top variant is Rs 10.55 lakh. Its direct competition will be from Baleno CNG and Glanza CNG. The starting price of Altroz CNG is Rs. 1.50 Lakh. 80,000 less than the Baleno CNG. Whereas, the base model of Glanza CNG is costlier by Rs 95000.
