Car News Desk – Tata Motors, one of the country’s well-known car manufacturers, has achieved a new success. The company has announced that its Tata Harrier SUV has crossed the one lakh unit sales mark in the Indian market. The mid-size SUV was launched in India in early 2019, which means it has achieved this feat within four and a half years of its arrival. It is the second most premium SUV from the company to be offered in the Indian market. Let us know about its main features.

Tata Harrier Engine and Platform
The Tata Harrier is designed on Land Rover’s D8-derived Omega Arc platform. It is currently offered with a sole FCA-sourced 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that makes 170 PS of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. This engine is shared with the Jeep Compass, MG Hector as well as its 3-row sibling the Safari. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox as well as an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Built around Tata Motors’ IMPACT 2.0 styling philosophy, the Harrier features a proportionate design. It has been made bold and butch. Modernly attractive elements have been added to the car. At the same time, safety features like ADAS with 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, hill-hold assist and hill-descent control have been provided. Tata Harrier price starts from Rs.15 Lakh to Rs.24.07 Lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata SUV competes with other similarly priced SUVs in the Indian market like the Mahindra XUV700, Scorpio-N and the MG Hector.
