
Car News Des – Indian automaker Tata Motors is working towards updating its existing SUV lineup this year. The update includes the Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier and Safari. Along with this, the company is going to introduce Altroz hatchback and Punch EV and CNG. Let us see the details of Tata’s upcoming cars.
Tata Altroz/Punch CNG
Tata Altroz CNG will go on sale from May 19, while Punch CNG will be launched in the next few months. The Altroz CNG will come with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine with a dual-cylinder setup. This setup generates peak power of 84bhp and torque of 113Nm. This car is capable of giving a mileage of up to 26.49 km/kg. It will get the feature of electric sunroof with voice assist.
Tata Nexon/Nexon EV Facelift
The Tata Nexon facelift is likely to be launched in late July or August 2023. The subcompact SUV will get a new twin-spoke steering wheel, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a digital instrument cluster. New purple seat upholstery and paddle shifters, similar to the Curve concept SUV. This compact SUV will get a new 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which generates 125PS of power and 225Nm of torque. Along with this, it will also get a 1.5 liter turbo diesel engine.
Tata Harrier/Safari Facelift
The company can launch the updated models of both these SUVs during the Diwali season of 2023. The design of the 2023 Harrier will be largely inspired by the Harrier EV concept. It will get features like new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, new 7-inch digital instrument console and advanced driver assistance system. Both these SUVs will get the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine.
Tata Punch EV
Tata Punch EV can be launched in the second half of 2023. Tata’s Ziptron technology will be used in this electric micro SUV. In this, the battery pack can be seen with the permanent magnet synchronous motor of Tata Tiago EV. The car is expected to get a range of 300 km. It will get rear disc brake instead of regular rear drum brake.
who will compete
The Tata Altroz CNG will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG, which gets a CNG kit with the 1.2L petrol engine.
