auto news desk, Indian automaker Tata Motors launched its Tiago hatchback car in the electric version in September last year. Deliveries of the new Tiago EV began in February this year. After about four months, the company has informed that 10,000 units of its electric hatchback car have been delivered across the country. The pre-booking of this car was started in September 2022 and within the first 24 hours there were more than 10,000 bookings for this car and by December 2022 this figure has crossed 20,000 units. But the company has not given information about the current booking figures of this car.

Till recently Tata Tiago was the cheapest electric car in the country. There is a choice of two battery packs, including 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh options. The electric motor fitted in it generates power of 60bhp and 74bhp respectively. The smaller battery packs a range of 250 km on a single full charge, while the larger battery pack is capable of delivering a range of 315 km on a single charge. It can be fully charged in 8.7 hours with a normal charger while it can be fully charged in just 1 hour with a fast DC fast charger.

Tata Tiago Electric competes with MG Comet EV, Citroën E C3 and Tata Tigor EV in the country. MG’s recently launched small electric car has now become the second cheapest car in the country after the Tata Tiago EV. It gets a 17.3 kWh battery, which is capable of giving a range of 230 km.
