The Vernacar will be sold in India as the Verna instead of the Xcent.
The new Verna carries over Hyundai’s sensuous sportiness design language. The car features a futuristic design that includes strip-like LED DRLs and a large grille that is similar to the Hyundai Alantara sold overseas. The car also gets a low swooping roofline which gives it a coupe-esque look. At the rear, there are LED tail lamps that run across the rear of the car. The latest pictures show the car longer than its predecessor, while the design of the car appears to be minimal, it is uncertain how people will react to it when launched in India.

The Vernacar will be available in seven single-tone and two dual-tone color options
Hyundai has confirmed that the new Verna will be available in four trim levels – EX, S, SX and SX(O). The car will be powered by a new 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine that produces around 158 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual gearbox. The car will also get a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 113.5 Bhp and 144 Nm of torque. This engine will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox or CVT. The diesel engine of the previous generation Verna will be discontinued as a result of the newly introduced stringent emission laws.
