car news desk, The competition in the affordable electric car segment in India is increasing day by day. Tata Motors is currently the largest electric car seller in the country. Tata launched the Tata Tiago EV last year as its cheapest electric car. Its price starts from Rs. 8.69 lakhs. Now MG is about to bring a compact electric car of its own in India.
MG’s electric car is to be launched in India this year. The company has announced the name of this electric car. It will be named MG Comet. The name takes inspiration from the iconic 1934 British airplane that took part in the England-Australia MacRobertson Air Race. MG Comet will be based on the Wuling Air EV sold in the global market. The special thing is that MG’s new electric car will be smaller in size than Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3. The length of MG Comet will be around 2,900 mm. It will have 3 doors, two on the side and one at the rear. It will be a 4 seater car. There is a possibility that its price in India may be less than Rs 10 lakh.
