Meanwhile, an XUV from the company has achieved a new level of popularity. 1 lakh units of this SUV are all set to be sold. In fact, Mahindra has announced on Wednesday that it has completed the production of the 1 lakhth unit of its Mahindra Thar SUV. This shows how much demand this SUV has in the Indian market. There is a waiting period of up to 1.5 years on some variants of the Mahindra Thar SUV. This means that one lakh units which are yet to be completed would have already been booked. The company has achieved this milestone of one lakh production units in two and a half years, which is a big deal for this lifestyle SUV.
Mahindra Thar price and variants
Mahindra Thar price starts from Rs. 9.99 lakh and goes up to Rs. 16.49 Lakhs. While earlier the Mahindra Thar used to come only with the 4X4 system, now the company has started selling the 4X2 variant as well at an affordable price. Mahindra introduced the all-new second generation Thar in October 2020. The Thar comes in two trims – AX Optional and LX. It gets convertible top and hard top options. The LX trim gets 18-inch alloy wheels while the AX comes with an optional 16-inch set.
Mahindra Thar Engine
There are a total of 3 engine options available in Thar. The first is a 1,997cc turbocharged petrol engine, which generates 150bhp power and 300Nm torque. The second engine is a 2,184cc diesel engine, which produces 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Apart from this, the company has also brought a new 1.5 liter diesel engine.
