Toyota Fortuner price starts at Rs 32.59 Lakh, going all the way up to Rs 50.34 Lakh for the top-end variant. That is, it is not an economical car, so the number of people who buy it is also less. But, there has been a good growth in its sales. Toyota Fortuner sales registered a healthy growth during last January, registering a growth of 356 per cent year-on-year. The company has sold a total of 3,698 units in January 2023 while only 811 units were sold in January 2022.
It is a 7 seater SUV. It gets two engine options – 2.7L petrol (166PS/245Nm) and 2.8L turbo diesel (204PS/500Nm). Customers can choose the engine option of their choice. Its diesel version gets 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission while the petrol version gets the option of 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. The diesel model also gets the option of a four-wheel-drive system.
It gets a touchscreen infotainment system (8.0-inch in the standard variant and 9.0-inch in the Legend variant), which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Its standard variant comes with 18-inch alloy wheels while the Legend variant gets 20-inch dual tone alloy wheels.
The Legend variant also gets features like 360-degree parking camera, wireless charging, kick-to-open powered tailgate and ambient lighting. For safety, it has features like 7 airbags, hill assist, vehicle stability control and ABS with EBD. It competes in the market with cars like Mahindra Alturas G4, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq.
