Tata Motors got ‘defeat’ even after trying hard, this only company washed away

auto news desk, Tata Motors cars are getting great response in India. While Maruti Suzuki is at number one, the battle for number two is on between Hyundai and Tata. Even in the month of February, Tata Motors fell just short of becoming number 2 with 3000 cars. Tata Motors sold 43,140 units of passenger vehicles (including electric vehicles) in the domestic market last month. Whereas for Hyundai Motors this figure has been 47,001 units.

Tata Motors’ total wholesale sales in February stood at 79,705 units, up 3 per cent year-on-year. A year ago in the same month (February 2022), the company sold 77,733 vehicles. Tata Motors said in a statement on Wednesday that its vehicle sales in the domestic market increased by six percent to 78,006 units during February 2023, while in February 2022 the company sold only 73,875 vehicles in the domestic market.

Tata Motors said that its passenger vehicle sales (including electric vehicles) in the domestic market stood at 43,140 units in the month under review (February 2023), as against 40,181 units in the same month a year ago (February 2022). However, the company’s total commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market declined by 3 per cent to 36,565 units as against 37,552 units in the same month a year ago (February 2022).

Hyundai Motor India’s wholesale sales in February stood at 57,851 units, up 9 per cent year-on-year. Last month, Hyundai wholesaled 47,001 units in the domestic market, up 7 percent from 44,050 units in February 2022. The company said that in February 2023, it also exported 10,850 vehicles from India, up 19 per cent from 9,109 vehicles a year ago.
