These two new affordable SUVs will chew Tata Punch raw! Maruti-Hyundai surrounded from two sides

auto news desk, Tata Punch is the second best selling SUV from Tata Motors in the country. But, its dominance in the micro SUV segment is soon going to be challenged by Maruti and Hyundai. In the coming months, both these companies will bring new models, which will compete with Punch. Maruti is about to launch its Franck, which is a compact crossover SUV.

The France model lineup will be made available in five trims – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha. Buyers will get two engine options, one will be the new 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol Boosterjet engine and the other will be the 1.2L, 4-cylinder NA petrol engine.

There will be a choice of three gearboxes – 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT and 6-speed torque converter automatic. Talking about the features, Maruti Fronx will have features like 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with wireless smartphone connectivity), 6-speaker sound system, HUD, 360-degree camera, cruise control, auto climate control and wireless phone charging. Its price can start from around Rs 8 lakh.

Hyundai is moving towards launching the new micro SUV (codenamed Ai3) in India, which will be the smallest and cheapest SUV from the South Korean automaker in India. It will be bigger than the Hyundai Casper, which is already sold in the South Korean market. The overall length, width and height of the Casper are 3595mm, 1595mm and 1575mm-1605mm respectively.
