auto news desk, Maruti Suzuki is going to launch Franks soon. It is a Baleno-based SUV coupe, which will be sold through the Nexa dealership network. The bookings for Maruti Franks are already being taken. It can be launched in March. The model lineup will have five trims – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha. The entry-level variant of this compact crossover could cost around Rs 8 lakh and the top variant could cost around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). If launched in the same price range, it would take on the likes of Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger will compete with Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet. Currently, the Punch, Magnite and Kaiger come in a price range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.54 lakh, Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.94 lakh and Rs 6.50 lakh to Rs 11.23 lakh, respectively.
It will get two engine options which are 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol Boosterjet and 1.2L, 4-cylinder NA petrol engine. Mild hybrid technology will be available. Both the engines generate 100bhp power with 147.6Nm and 90bhp power with 113Nm respectively. It will get the option of 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
