auto news desk, The country’s largest vehicle manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has crossed the figure of 25 lakh (25 lakh) vehicle exports. Commenting on the achievement, Hisashi Takechi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. said, “The historic export of 2.5 million vehicles is a testimony to India’s manufacturing prowess. This feat furthers Maruti Suzuki’s unwavering commitment to the Government of India’s flagship Make-in-India initiative and the Government’s efforts to increase vehicle exports.

He added, “The company commenced exports in the financial year 1986-87. Since then our vehicles have won acceptance and appreciation from global customers due to their high quality, superior technology, reliability, performance and affordability. Today Maruti Suzuki is in a strong position in. No. 1 Exporter of Passenger Vehicles from India.

It is noteworthy that Maruti made a modest debut in the export market in the financial year 1986–87 with neighboring markets like Bangladesh and Nepal. The first large batch of 500 cars was sent to Hungary in September 1987. But, now Maruti Suzuki exports to around 100 countries. These include Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, which are important export markets for the company. Maruti Suzuki is also continuously strengthening its portfolio in India and will soon launch two new SUVs, the Maruti Suzuki Frons and the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Frances can be launched next month i.e. April while Jimny can be launched in May 2023.
