auto news desk,Tata Motors entered the premium hatchback segment in 2020 with the Altroz. Now the company is planning to bring two new variants of the hatchback this year. Tata Ultroz ​​CNG and Ultroz ​​Racer can be launched this year. Both the models were also showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. The Tata Altroz ​​CNG will come with a 1.2L petrol engine, to which will be added a factory-fitted CNG kit. On CNG mode, this engine will generate maximum power of 77PS and peak torque of 95Nm. The setup will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Interestingly, the model will get a new dual cylinder setup and each cylinder will have a capacity of 30 litres.

It is the first car in its class to have Direct State CNG with a single advanced ECU (Engine Control Unit) and Leakage Detection Technology. It will come with features like faster refueling, auto switch between fuels and modular fuel filter. Its mileage can also be around 26 kmpl or can be more.

The Tata Altroz ​​Racer will compete with the Hyundai i20 N Line, which is available with a 1.0L turbo petrol engine (118bhp) and 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT gearbox options. The Altroz ​​Racer will be powered by a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that will generate 120PS of power at 5,500rpm and 170Nm of peak torque between 1,750rpm to 4,000rpm. This turbo-petrol unit is also available in the Nexon subcompact model lineup . The Racer variant of the hatchback will get features like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, ventilated seats, voice activated electric sunroof and 6 airbags.
