Hyundai’s new micro SUV may be introduced soon, will compete with Tata Punch

auto news desk, Hyundai Motor India is continuously launching its new models in the country. Recently the company has launched its new mid size sedan New Generation Verna. In which a lot of new changes and a new engine have been given. Which later the company will include in its other cars as well. Along with this, the company is also going to launch a new sub-compact SUV with the codename AI3 by the end of this year.

When will the Hyundai AI3 be launched?
According to media reports, this micro SUV of Hyundai will be launched by the middle of 2023. Although the company has not said anything about this till now. The car will be placed between the Grand i10 Nios and the Venue in the company’s portfolio.

This new micro SUV will be designed on the K1 platform, which the company uses for its global model Casper. It will get a 1.2-liter 4-cylinder NA petrol engine, which can generate 81bhp power and 114Nm torque. CNG option can also be found in it. It will get both manual and AMT gearbox options. Along with this, it can also get a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which is seen in Venue and i20.

The new AI3 can get a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. This small SUV looks quite different from the Hyundai Casper. The spy pictures suggest that the new AI3 may get design elements similar to the Venue compact SUV. It will get to see the signature Hyundai grille, projector headlamps, LED, H-shaped tail-lamps and shark fin antenna. Its length will be around 3.8 meters.

Will compete with Tata Punch
This car will compete with Tata Punch, in which a 1.2 liter petrol engine is available. It is the best selling car in its segment.
