
car news desk, Kia India has registered a new milestone as the company has exported over two lakh cars from its India plant. The South Korean automaker announced that it has achieved the milestone of exporting two lakh cars within four years since starting operations in late 2019. The automaker also revealed that the Kia Seltos was the largest exported utility vehicle (UV) from India.
Kia India exported 135,885 units of the Seltos SUV from its production plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, which contributed 68 percent of the total exports. In fact, the Kia Seltos contributed to 53 per cent of the automaker’s total domestic sales. Meanwhile, the Kia Sonet contributed 54,406 vehicles to exports, while the Kia Corianz contributed 8,230 cars to exports since its launch.

Kia India exports vehicles to over 95 countries including the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, Mexico and Asia Pacific. The automaker’s highest ever monthly exports in December 2022 stood at 9,462 vehicles. The Kia Seltos was the most exported SUV in India in FY2023 (January-March) with 28 per cent share (10,295 units). Kia’s market share at the end of FY 2022-23 was 7.4 percent.
