
Car News Desk – Maruti Suzuki will launch its crossover SUV Franch in India next week. The company claims that this new sub-4 meter compact SUV will compete with the best-selling Tata Nexon in the segment. It has been the best selling SUV in FY22 and FY23. Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Tata Nexon Powertrains
Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming car Francks will get two engine options, which include 1.0-litre turbo boosterjet petrol engine and 1.2-litre dual-jet dual-VVT petrol engine. These generate outputs of 100.06PS/147.6Nm and 89.73PS/113Nm respectively. The 1.0-litre engine will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the 1.2-litre engine will get the option of a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT transmission. There is a Revotron 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine as standard and a Revotorq 1.5-litre diesel option. These generate outputs of 120PS/170Nm and 115PS/260Nm respectively. Both the engines get the option of 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed AMT.

Maruti Suzuki Frons 1.0L returns 21.5 kmpl in manual transmission, 20.01 kmpl in Frons 1.0L automatic transmission, 21.79 kmpl in Frons 1.2L manual transmission and 22.89 kmpl in Frons 1.2 AMT. Tata Nexon Petrol returns a mileage of 17.33 kmpl in Manual Transmission, 17.05 kmpl in Nexon Petrol AMT, 23.22 kmpl in Nexon Diesel Manual Transmission and 24.07 kmpl in Nexon Diesel AMT.

Maruti Suzuki Franks measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 in width, 1,550 mm in height, 2,520 mm wheelbase, 308 liters of boot space and 4.9 meters of turning radius.
Whereas, Tata Nexon has a length of 3,993 mm, width 1,811, height 1,606 mm, wheelbase 2,498 mm, boot space 350 liters and turning radius 5.1 meters.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is longer overall and has a longer wheelbase, but the Tata Nexon is wider and longer and has more boot space. However, the turning radius of Franks is less.
