car news desk, British automaker MG Motors has launched India’s smallest electric car MG Comet EV. This could be a better option for those looking for a small car for urban use. It is based on the Air EV from MG’s associate brand Wuling, which is already on sale in Indonesia.

The car is available in four color options which include Serenity Green, Flex Red, Beach Bay Blue and Sundowner Orange. Along with this, sticker styles like Night Cafe, Youth, Day of Dead, Space, Blossom and Loresta and Lit Pack were also given.

It looks a lot like the Wuling Air EV. It gets a smaller headlight cluster, front grille, flat bumper and a wraparound strip with LED lighting elements below the windshield. It received 12-inch alloy wheels and a two-tone paint scheme. Its length is 2974mm, width 1505mm and height 1640mm. Its wheelbase is 2,010 mm and turning radius is 4.2 meters.

According to the company, Tata AutoComp’s 17.3kWh battery has been used in it. This IP67 rated battery is water and dust resistant. It gets an ARAI-certified range of 230 km per charge. The sole front-axle electric motor on board produces 42 hp and 110 Nm of torque. It gets automatic gearbox. It takes 5 hours to charge from 10 to 80% with a 3.3kW charger. It has disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear.
interior features
The interior layout of the new MG Comet is very similar to the Wuling Air EV. It features a dual 10.25-inch floating display, one used for infotainment and the other for digital instrumentation. It gets aluminum trim on the edges, infotainment system with voice commands, glossy rotary selector with black textured trim on the dashboard, folding and folding front seats with touch and split seat ratio 50:50.
These include two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, over 55 connected features, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity, three USB ports, manual AC controls, keyless entry and reversing camera and sensors, dual front airbags, EBD. Features like ABS and tire pressure monitoring system are available.
