auto news desk,Automobile company Kia Motors has recently added a new luxury Carens MPV model (O) variant to its lineup, which can be placed between the two top-end variants of the same car, Luxury and Luxury+. Launched in the Carens series, the starting price of this new car is Rs 17 lakh which goes up to Rs 17.70 lakh.
Carens Luxury (O) New Features
This new car of the company is of its top 2 variants (between luxury and luxury plus). It also gets a sunroof and ambient lighting as compared to the Luxury trim which changes depending on the drive mode selected. The company offers a 6-seater configuration in its Luxury trim, but the Luxury (O) is offered with a 7-seater configuration. The Luxury (O) also lacks features such as an 8-speaker Bose sound system, paddle shifters, and ventilated front seats, all of which are present in the top-of-the-line Carens Luxury Plus.
Carens Luxury (O) Features
In terms of features, this car is similar to the rest of its models. Luxury (O) has curtain airbags for driver and passenger, ABS with ESE, hill-start assist, air purifier, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity support, 4.2-inch color MID, cruise control, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system Cruise meets. Controls, seat back tables for the second row, rear view camera, 6-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, disc brakes on all four wheels that sport 16-inch crystal cut alloys.
Cairns (O) Engine Options
The company has also replaced some manuals with iMT gearboxes. Now the new Luxury (O) variant is only available with automatic configuration, with no manual or iMT available. It is powered by a 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT, which can generate 160hp of max power and 253Nm of torque. While the 116 hp powered, 1.5-L diesel engine is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission (AMT).

The 1.5-L, turbo-petrol engine variant with 7-speed DCT is priced at Rs. 17 lakh, ex-showroom. While the 1.5-litre, diesel with 6-speed automatic transmission costs Rs. 17.70 lakh, ex-showroom.
